Supported by the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and under the framework of the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), this project provided a platform for 22 GMS-UC Member Universities from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam to engage in a series of activities and workshops in areas of leadership management, teaching and research, and internationalization and cross-border higher education through experience sharing.

In order to socialise Japan’s QC standards (QC KENTEI) and to map QC expertise competencies in ASEAN countries, the QC KENTEI EXAMINATION was presented in Indonesia at the end of 2022 in collaboration with National Standardization Agency (BSN) and Japanese Standards Association (JSA). This activity is an event for QC personnel in Indonesia (or similar fields) to test the extent of their QC competency.

Japanese Standards Association (JSA) administers “QC KENTEI and the first examination was conducted in 2005. Initially, QC KENTEI is provided for Japanese only.
For the first time QC KENTEI examination is conducted in Viet Nam. Supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), JSA collaborated with Quality Training Centre (STAMEQ) to offer QC KENTEI qualifying examination, opened to all qualified Viet Nam workers with no charge.

Japanese Standards Association (JSA) administers “QC KENTEI and the first examination was conducted in 2005. Initially, QC KENTEI is provided for Japanese only.
For the first time QC KENTEI examination is conducted in Malaysia. Supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), JSA collaborated with Standards Malaysia and Universiti Kuala Lumpur MITEC to offer QC KENTEI qualifying examination, opened to all qualified Malaysian workers with no charge.

The GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) using Space Satellite System, standardized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), has been introduced in several countries of the world as a redundancy of conventional ground-based navigation system.
GNSS Implementation Plan Training in ASEAN (GIPTA) aimed for relevant ASEAN civil aviation personnel to obtain knowledge and skills for introduction plan of GNSS starting from the year 2020. After this training, safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective air navigation service provided by GNSS is expected to be ready in ASEAN region as a whole.

Effective and safe drugs are essential to maintaining and improving public health, and it is the responsibility of the world’s regulators to ensure swift access. Therefore, global harmonisation of technical regulatory requirements for drug product approvals and cooperation among regulatory authorities is essential to realise more efficient product reviews and streamlined exchange of critical safety information.
In 2022, the Indonesian FDA, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA, Japan) and Universitas Indonesia (UI) by the support of Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) conduct a collaboration programme which is called ASEAN-Japan Pharmaceuticals Training in Risk Management Plan. This project aims to advance regulatory harmonisation activities concerning drug products among the ASEAN Member States.

This Documentary is the third set of productions of the ASEAN Now and the Future project which is developed based on the unique perspectives of each country’s broadcasters. This time, it touches on the problem of marine plastic waste. More than half of the plastic is discharged from Asian countries. The ASEAN member countries of Indonesia, the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Thailand occupy top positions in the world ranking. In the Documentary, we see the actual situation of each country.

The ASEAN Guidelines on Promoting Responsible Investment in Food, Agriculture and Forestry are a roadmap for how private investors and governments can ensure investments in any ASEAN Member State are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable and inclusive.
This project on Creation and Testing of Learning and Accreditation Programme to Implement the ASEAN-RAI Guidelines is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).

The AADMER Work Programme (AWP) 2021-2025 Web-based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System is a secured online platform that covers both the monitoring of implementation and tracking of progress towards results. The system is formulated to ease the conduct of the monitoring processes and to provide real-time monitoring data that informs and guides the AADMER Work Programme implementation.
This AWP M&E System is a project by the ASEAN Secretariat with support from Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).

The Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) project was endorsed by the ASEAN Working Group on Chemicals and Waste and ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment and funded through the JAIF. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the prevention of the adverse impacts of mercury on health and the environment through the environmentally sound management of used thermometers and sphygmomanometers in the ASEAN Member States. The project duration is from October 2019 to September 2021. The target countries for this project are Indonesia and the Philippines. Project activities include development of guidelines on environmentally sound management of mercury-containing medical measuring devices, inventory, capacity building through in-country workshops and regional workshop.

This project will develop and strengthen capacities in taxonomic knowledge to identify and manage quarantine risks associated with agriculture commodities and to accurately diagnose pests and diseases among the ASEAN Member States (AMS).

Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) through the ASEAN Secretariat funded Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project, from 2015 – 2020.

JBMIA were approved subsidiary program by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and have been entrusted with JAIF Project since 2018 to carry out project of Capacity Building for Conformity Assessment for ITE in ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Japan Partnership Program for EMC and Safety Conformity Assessment of Multimedia Equipment.
